Open Source Java Web Server Implementation

clipped from jetty.mortbay.org
Jetty is an open-source, standards-based, full-featured web server implemented entirely in Java. It is released under the Apache 2.0 licence and is therefore free for commercial use and distribution. First created in 1995, Jetty has benefitted from input from a vast user community and consistent and focused development by a stable core of lead developers. There are many more examples of Jetty in action on the Jetty Powered Page that has selections from among the tens of thousands of production Jetty instances. However, as Jetty aims to be as unobtrusive as possible, countless websites and products are based around Jetty, but Jetty is invisible!

Flash Linux

This is a great tool for those that don't really like Microsoft and their products.
It's a FREE (GPL-2) customised Linux distribution initially designed to be run directly off a 256Mb USB key or other (similar) forms of bootable flash memory. It has subsequently (also) become a Linux distribution that runs directly from a CDROM, typically known as a Live-CD.

    Computer Desktop Multiplier

The ability to turn an ordinary desktop computer into mulitple machines is a great concept. I really like "Free" and here is a free license that is available for non-commercial use. I seen an article posted fairly recently showing this type of technology splitting a desktop into 8 different machines. Unless you are running very resource intensive applications on your machine you have the ability to make this split without loosing any current functionality. Full blown lab environments can now be established at a very low cost. Slick!
